Having had my HID’s fitted by Dr Bob a couple of weeks ago, I have to say I'm immensely impressed with the improvement in the headlights... I can see in the dark again!

One thing I have noticed though, (and to be fair it is only an aesthetics issue), is that in comparison, the sidelights and fogs are now very obviously a rather tired looking yellowed colour. I tried some blued bulbs from Halfords, which were advertised to be 'ice-white', and it made absolutely no difference, so they went straight back this morning...

In respect of the Fogs, Xenon’s may be an option, or HID's are available from the guys at Evolve for £60 as we are aware, so I'm now seriously considering going down that road, and switching them out.

However, side light bulbs are an issue, Dr Bob's prognosis is to get LED side light bulbs which have a much whiter light. I have managed to source these via ebay, they are very little to buy and are available in packs of 2, 10, or 20 or more I think.

From the conversation I have had with Baz, it would appear that it is only relevant to those of us with UK/Euro headlights/wiring as the US headlights/wiring uses a different sidelight, so I am offering to buy a pack of them and send out bulbs to those with UK/Euro spec Vipers who need/want them.

So, if interested, if you could add your names below over the next few days and once I know who wants them I’ll order up enough bulbs and once I have them I’ll get in touch for addresses to post to.

All the best
Dave

For a few quid sign me up please.

How hard was the install of the HID's dave? Would the fogs be harder as I figured they would be pretty hard to get at?

Hi Mark, no cost involved they're only a few quid to buy so not worried about that at my end.
The Headlight HID's were extremely easy to install, just remove old bulbs, plug in new ones, and cable tie the ballast box... as for the fogs, from what I can gather, they can be done without removing the fascia, by getting through the access plugs in the wheel arches, I haven't tried it yet, but am told it can be done... (I'll let you know for sure when I get round to doing it)

Sorry guys, this had slipped my mind til this morning

Just to let you all know, I've ordered a load of these up, I will have 10 Pairs available, at this point six of which are earmarked as per requests, if anyone else with a euro-car wants a pair, let me know.

I'll let you know when I have them and get addresses for postage, or send them via the usual jungle mail... We'll work that out when I have them.

Put mine in last night... Verdict is positive!

They are about the same kind of 'strength' of light as the old side lights, but a much better 'tinge' to the 'colour' of the light... It's not a perfect match to the HID, but has the sharper more modern looking 'blueyness' rather than a 'yellowyness'. (The photo in my first post is actually a pretty good likeness).

One thing to mention when you fit these is that they will only work one way round, because an LED has a positive and a negative side, so if you plug the bulb in and it doesn't work, take it out and turn it round so that the terminals are the other way round.

Going to have to do my fogs now me thinks!

PM me some addresses guys and I'll try and get them posted out asap.
