Hi People,

I 'm about to purchase a new car and after much deliberation i have decided on Lotus over a 996 Turbo (money reasons if I'm honest)Now I'm fairly set on a exige s but is there an elise with similiar performance. Ihave previously owned a s1 and an s2 (135 sport) and a TVR Tamora, your imput would be greatly appreciated,

Go for the Exige S, you will not regret it.

I had a T350C previously, and as much as i enjoyed the car it dosent get close to the Exige S i replaced it with.

The elise SC....But to be honest if you can live with how an exige s is set up, then get one of those....
Also there is a lot more you can do with an exige s if you want to up the power later. Its possible to get 260bhp from the supercharger as atm it is only running at about 30-40% of its full potential. Where as the Elise SC is running full tilt.
Also the other thing to take into account is the fact the supercharger whine on the Exige S is always there and can get very loud when you give it the beans. Where as the SC stays a bit quieter.
The best bet is to drive both and see which you prefer.....

It has to be the exige. I have had subarus and tvrs and BMWm cars and I found that the standard elise is just not fast enough after those type of cars. I did consider the S2 135R, but there was not one for sale at the time I was looking, so cannot give you a comparison with that one.... I ended up with a cup240, as that felt similar in performance to the other cars I had. Also the exige looks much better!! The exige s I tested was a lot better than the standard exige which did feel slow.
