I'm thinking of running my 207 110HDi on biodiesel.

Does anyone have any direct experiences or first hand tales to share? My main dealer guru explained fully and at length that "It won't work", but didn't actually seem to know why.

I've been trying in vain to get some straight talk so can you not reply with bull like "ur mad m8, it'll knacker you engine, someone down the pub told me". I'm trying to make an informed decision.

Cheers

What do you mean when you say biodiesel?

The stuff you can buy at the pumps will be fine.

Veg oil will not. Mainly due to it clogging up the injectors, fuel filter and fuel pump.

Biodiesel is vegetable oil cracked by heating with methanol and cuastic soda. Said to work the same way as mineral diesel.

I'm not talking about straight unprocessed veg oil. Are you? If not, was it you or a friend who discovered this first hand?

eta: If you are talking about biodiesel, a drawback that I'm aware of is liberating gunk from the tank which means a filter change for the first few tankfulls. Is this what you or your associate had happen?
