Door Open Light Staying On ?

Hello my mate has a 2001 m.y bora ,and the central locking is not working ,and the door open light is staying on and the courtesy light stays on , is there any micro switch`s on the door lock or is there a relay that does this ...any idea`s

i think it's a microswitch - my driver's door's one's knackered too 
ETA 2003 A3. works sometimes. when it's not working the central locking on key fob does work but alarm does not arm. if you're inside the car and it's not working, the button to lock all the doors does not work.
i'll have to get it sorted - but it's one of those things i just keep putting off.
want to do it myself (cheaper
), but need to find out where it is and what's involved in getting to it.
