SCV8: Jag Shakes down at Silverstone
V8 Saloon Series gets into shape
Discussion
And yet the Jaguar you would have seen in the V8 Star Championship, for that would have been the series you'd have seen on tv, would have been an S-Type body shell, not and X-Type.
However, for Rouse to say that the X-type was great to drive is a bit over the top. It is, after all, a space frame chassis with a V8 under the bonnet. The only X-type bit is the shell, and it does sod all for the handling and driving.

This is similar of the V8 series over here in southern hemisphere although mainly Australia. The cars have a different (race) V8 engine to the road cars (5.0 instead of 5.7 in the case of the holden).
Surely it would be good to see manufactureres using a rear wheel V8 based on a road car though. MG now have the V8 RWD beast BUT bloody Honda for Ted's sake is a joke!
Race em on Sunday, sell em on Monday. You'd be disappointed walking into the showroom's of most entrants from what I have seen.

So the S type what not a "modern day" Jag?
