Assuming that all of the other components are functioning 100%, and fluid isn't 'tired'....different pads ?

Also, there is an article on the TVRwedgepages site under maintenance that deals with brakes, well the state of my old ones more precisely! ;-o

Don't underestimate the state of the pistons, pads, brake hoses etc!

You could also try some braided hoses, changing to new fluid (you don't know if the previous owner has boiled the brakes), bleeding the brakes correctly, changing to some tidy pads / disks before going to spend BIG bucks on a brake conversion.

Do a search on the various TVR forums lots of info there.

Can you lock the wheels under breaking and you are not getting brake fade due to them over heating then bigger brakes will not help.

the main reason for bigger brakes is to aid cooling.

Fitting bigger brakes can some times increases the stopping distance, if you could mess the front / rear brake balance.

They may give a better feel, but in the real world may not being actually stopping you quicker.

Leigh, you may want to qualify your comments there. I understand what you mean re stopping distances, but the great and the good may not.

Hi
Which se do you have - I have no4

The 350se should have a 4ltr NCK (TVR Power) engine with hotwire ignition.
Plenum will have 3.9 cast in similar to many 400se's.
The bore x stroke are as per 4ltr not to be confused with the earlier 390se which was a bored and modied 350.
TVR press announcement in 1990 claimed 240bhp for the 350se vs 260bhp for the 400se
TVR power suggested that the 350se is very similar to a pre-cat 400 Griff engine which TVr also claim 240bhp.

you fit "bigger" brakes but you didnt think about the issue that all the brake coponents must work togehter?

is your brake-master cylinder absolutely well dimensioned to cope with the new calipers...i presume you made same caluclations before fitting the calipers?

oh..mathematics wasnt your best thing in school...you prefered watching the girls?

but now you are driving around with self-engineered brakes...thanx good that i´m not a permanent resident of UK.

read this about brakes:
