Someone reversed into me in a car park........

Had a chap in a rather large Mercedes van reverse into our beloved T350 in a pub car park this evening. Did some serious damage to the back end and driver's rear-quarter. Secured it all with Gaffa tape (is there anything you can't use that stuff for?!!) and drove home. I've called the Insurance company who only provide an 'out-of-hours' skeleton crew; someone will call me for full details tomorrow morning. My main question is: Has anyone here used Webb's Auto Bodyshop in Nailsea for repairs lately? We've used them before and they were good, if a bit on the slow side! Happy to receive recommendations for alternatives in and around Bristol.

I have heard too many horror stories about Webbs.

I had my old T350 sorted by RMC. I had £20k's worth of damage done to the car when I was deliberately run off the road in 2005, they put it good as new again.

I can't speak highly enough of the work they did to mine. I dealt with a chap called Dave who liaised with my insurance for me (Privilege).

Thanks for the recommendation, I've had a look at their website and they do look pretty good despite being a fair distance away (not really an issue as we use Peninsula TVR in Exeter for servicing etc.). I'm anxious to get the ball rolling on repairs, but I'm still waiting on a call-back from my insurance company so I can then get in touch with RMC. It's really frustrating doing nothing right now!

Contact PHer anniesdad, who specialises in third party claims. Keeps your ins co out of it, and will get you a like for like car for the duration of the repairs.

I bought my T350 new from Peninsula (and had it serviced there), which is how i knew about RMC. RMC used to be contracted by Peninsula to do all their bodywork.

RMC also do work outside of insurance claims, so if you aren't going the insurance route, still give them a bell.

RMC picked up the car on Friday, it was suprisingly upsetting seeing her go on the trailer; really made brought home what a rare and exceptional car she is. They reckon they'll get the estimate ready for today/tomorrow so hopefully the insurance company will give the go-ahead straight away. Fingers crossed this won't be a 3 month saga.

We've also been given a courtesy car on a 'like for like' basis and guess what..........yup, it's a Porsche Boxster S!! Decent enough car, good build quality, quite quick but just no-where near the involved, raw experience of the T350. Still, better than a VW Polo!
