Crafty, there was a report in the local paper the other day of HSV in Australia offloading 200 brand new (less that 1000km) engines as they have been unable to work out an engineering solution for the process of installing the LS7 as a limited run model.
Basically all HSV cars start life on the same South Australian production line. Because of the dry sump configuration of the ls7 it cannot be installed and started/driven of the production line. So HSV might be installing the latest LS3 just to drive it of the production line. The LS7 would then be installed at the Clayton plant.
Hence lightly used 330kw (~450hp) LS3s going cheep.
go figure.
