Im on cable broadband and its showing as 8Mb.

But in all honestly that is far more than enough, i reckon going with the 4Mb would be acceptable enough!

i'm using the bt home hub very easy to set up, will run upto 8meg but i have an old exchange so this limit's performance to around 4.

I have the XBOX and PC wired and the PS3 connected wirelessly with no problems at all, surf and play at the same time with no bother.

Not to sure of the top of my head but i think it's around £17

i know they knocked loads of money off when we asked about cancelling and moving to SKY broardband, plus you get free evening and weekend calls using the internet phone.

Peak throughput isn't as important as latency to be honest.

mine is 1meg which is max possible at our house, and that is ok for Forza etc. Could do with being a bit quicker but not to bad.

BT was about 3mb for me - it got pretty ropey if I played xbox while the Mrs surfed. I'm now on BeUnlimited which is about £9 a month cheaper but I'm seeing 13mb!!!

check out forums on dslreports and thinkbroadband

avoid these :-

tiscali, eclipse, talk-talk

any package that is too good to be true, like under £10

good companies - Aquiss, Merula, Zen, Be (LLU)
