Possible E39 540i Purchase.....what should i offer ??

Thinking off purchasing a E39 540i auto, 1998, 100,000 miles very well specced.
What sort of money should i be offering for this car......its a private sale.......i was thinking around 2500-2750 in the current climate

any opinions greatly received

I would offer a lot less than that! In this "current market" nobody wants a big juicey V8 (apart from us die-hard petrol-heads like us that is ). I'v been trying to sell a (lesser I know!) very well equiped 535i for the past month without a single 'bite' (not the one in my profile I have two of them ), I only want £2250 for the bloody thing!

Go in low, chances are he has no intrest either!
