mark adams chip
Discussion
Agreed, I had this choice a few months ago... The full Mark Adams setup costs around £600 and in the end by putting together a group buy I managed to get the Emerald price down to around £1000. The Emerald route is a little more involved however, there are a lot of things that can go wrong etc and it isn't an easy option, but its well worth it IMHO and provides capabilities far beyond the Tornado chip. Having said that, you might not need or want them so it sort of boils down to this I think:
- If you have no mods to the car and don't intend to, don't bother
- If you have a couple of induction mods, maybe a fast road cam etc get the Tornado Chip
- If you have more mods or are looking to tinker a little more, get an Emerald or similar setup
Either way, remapping will smooth out your power delivery, reduce/remove shunting, improve your fuel economy (not much with the Tornado but a large chunk with 3d ignition/fueling), and generally make your car nicer to drive

I think £600 would be conservative with RR costs and the actual chip..- If you have no mods to the car and don't intend to, don't bother

1998 5 litre chimaera.mark adams chip set up by Peninsula TVR(no rolling road).twin carbon plenum.kermacoated manifolds/y piece.no pre/main cats.straight through exhaust.just over 320bhp 350lbs torque when running rich on recent rolling road trip.unfortunately no idea what the cars stats were before mods.would seriously recommend Peninsula TVR by the way.
ah you ask, what does it drive like since the mods.its like being sling shot up the road with all that torque.Peninsula TVR have set up the suspension a dream to put it all down on the road.the engine runs like silk with no shunt like some modified engines.you know you want toooooo........ !
