When you say the windows are cracked - you mean slightly open - try with the old coathanger trick, but aim for the glovebox handle instead, pop it open (should open relatively easily unless you've locked it) and hit the switch on top right of glovebox surround to pop the boot open...

Glove box is open and there is no power to the switch, cant get to the yellow catch as the headrest is in the way. Tried powering the reverse light, gives ign lights but no poe=wer to any switchs. Im now going to drive 150 round trip to get the spare key. Not a happy bunny.

Thank goodness we haven't given away any information about the concealed methods of entry into the boot space to anyone else reading this thread with nefarious intent. rolleyes

Seriously, someone should can this thread, swiftly, and future such requests ought to be replied to as PM. I was only thinking the other day that the boot was a RELATIVELY secure place to store things, if you don't know your way round the car, but this thread changes that.

Wouldn't think that the local hoodie on his evening patrol would go to such lengths to gain entry to the boot without damaging the car. I think if he was determined to examine the contents of the boot (probably empty) he would smash a window or use a tyre lever. After all, thread was about solving said problem with minimal damage. Ingeniously.
