One of my rear speakers is crackling. If it's faulty and needs replacing what make and model speakes are recommended. The speakers are 10-years old so would I notice an improvement I replaced them all.

You can improve on the standard setup quite a lot. Carl Baker is your man I'd say. You'd be welcome to listen to my setup (installed by Carl) if that helps.

I've got JL audios in mine and very happy with them smile

Had to make up some rings for the front as they were deeper than the pioneers they replaced

Steve where do I find Carl? Thanks for the offer to listen to the system, not sure when I'll be in Surrey next.

Dave I see your rear speakers are round. Mine are square with self-tapping screws in the corners. I think I may need to put square ones back in to cover the holes but I won't know until I take them out.

If your replacing the fronts at the same time then make sure you get thin speakers, i put infinity ones in the front of mine and they just fitted with a slight bit of cutting.

I've got a 10" JL in the helmet holder and a Genesis Profile 4 amp in the boot. I got a pair of Focal component speakers off ebay from Australia...£100, brands new which normally cost £270 over here. Well pleased. As Ballsy says though, they have to be slim and these components are the slim version.

go for volume over quality, as obviously hunting sound quality in a car like the cerb is a bit crazy when you're going to be listening to it over the engine..

I get volume AND quality. I wouldnt want anything just because its loud. I can have it loud so I cant hear the car and the quality is still spot on.

Listen to one of Carl Baker's install's before you do anything - No huge amps needed.
