Had a wedding to photograph today. Had to be in Chelmsford for 10.45am. Take kit out to Jaguar. Point zapper at it. Nothing. Never mind, sometimes it unlocks itself in the night. Try door handle. No, it's definitely locked. Arse. Battery is so dead it won't even unlock the car. No problem, this has happened before - I have a spare battery in the back. Fit spare battery. That is also flat. Arse.

But I have a TVR Griffith. Hurrah! Except that it's in the garage which is blocked by the dead Jaguar. Arse. Go round to burly neighbour and ask him to help me push dead Jag out of the way. Except that the transmission is locked in P and won't budge. Arse. Kindly neighbour offers to jump start Jag and brings round his Frontera. Amazingly, my puny jump leads get the Jag going, but of course I daren't take it because the battery won't charge up enough and then I'll be stranded in Chelmsford, which would also be worth an Arse.

So the Griff gets the gig, works perfectly AND impresses the punters smile

It doesn't need it smile

Besides, if I need to get to a wedding I don't want to sit for an hour waiting for the RAC to turn up... in fact the above burly neighbour offered to lend me his Frontera. I live in a nice area!
