Hi all,

I need to undo the bolt which holds the Serpentine belt tensioner pulley on my Air-conditioned Griff. The pulleys on A/C mdels are not grooved .. so I have a smooth pulley which tensions the outside (non V) side of the belt.

Is the bolt normal/reverse thread. The tensioner works in the same direction on both AC and non AC Griffs..however have read on various sites that it's a reverse thread.

Mine wont budge.. so before I get out the hammer I thought I'd check.

Hi,

I have air con too (late 94 model), I took my belt tensioner off last year, standard right hand thread (mounting bolt to alternator bracket) on mine.

Thanks .. however it's just occurred to me I didn't mention which bolt. I did mean the pulley bolt.. with the red dot.

Mark and Johno..

Got it undone and have pressed the bearing out. It's stuffed!!

markings are: skf 6203-2rs1 which is a common sealed bearing.

Many thanks for the assistance..

Just to close this off.

After the tensioner is removed, remove the inner clip and drive the old bearing out with a socket. The bearing is VERY common size.. and costs a few pounds. Use a vice/socket to drive the bearing back into the pulley.. and you have saved yourself 30 quid..
