Considering Xbox 360

Afternoon guys,
I'm considering purchasing an Xbox 360 and have a few general questions:
1. At the moment i only have a small portable TV in my bedroom, will the xbox still run okay on this?
2. BT provide my broadband, how easy will it be for me to connect to live?
3. What will be the best deal for me? Want Forza 2, Halo 3 and possibly GTA 4?
4. The Home Hub is downstairs, the Xbox will be upstairs, will i encounter some problems?
Your help is very much appreciated.

1. Providing the TV has (at minimum) a scart socket it will work. However, it won't look anywhere like it should or like screen shots your have seen
2. If you have an internet connection then live should be fine. Wont matter who it is with to much
3. Alot of people will always point you in the direction of the cheapest possible. However, personally I would recomend going into Game in the high street. I bought my console from there and the main advantage is if/when you get to the point where you need to use your warrenty. If you buy online if/when you get the red rings of death you have to contact Microsoft and go through their return/repair routine. This can take a week, it can take 6. I recently had some issues with my console and simply returned it to game. They went out the back and got a brand new console out of the store room and replaced my defective one there and then. That sort of service has to be worth something?
4. You will need a wireless connection on the 360. The official xbox accessory is pricey but it is also seemless.
I've had a lot of problems with setting up the wireless conection due to my house having an alarm with sensors throughout the house it was interfering with the signal to the Xbox so i have to use the cable which is a pain in the arse but at least i get to play online.
Apart from that Xbox live is huge great to play on nothing really comes close in the console market so if you get one i'm sure you'll not be dissapointed and remember Gears of War 2 comes out later this year which looks amazing the first one was awesome even online[as is COD4 the best online plat at the moment]i'd buy one just for the two titles i've mentioned you'll just have to wait till GOW2 but it'll be worth it

I use cable - ironically from Game too (only people on the high street who don't want to commit highway robbery for a 15m RJ45 lead, for £10, Staples etc want £27!!!)
Incidentally the cable shown is a crossover cable, normally for connecting two sytems together, not normally for connecting a PC or otherwise to a router HOWEVER the 360 is happy with either. I'd personally go for a non X over then you can use the lead to plug a PC in instead at some point - just my 2P worth!
Got mine at Game before Christmas, £249 with extra control pad, Viva Pinata and Forza 2 - I then forked out the full amount for Halo 3. Halo 3 has come don a little or look judiciously for a good priced second hand version.
Couple of other tips - if you want the steering wheel and pedals (Microsoft one is the only one with proper force feedback, sadly Logitech couldn't offer support for this feature on their wheel, and the otehrs are normally cheap tat) - can be had for less than £70 on Amazon. SOme don't like the wheel but it makes Forza 2 for me. Look also for deals that do throw in the extra controller, that'll be £30 and you're bound to want to take on one of your mates at some point!

I've not had a problem using wireless on mine with the official adaptor. It gets a better signal than my PC which is sat next to it.
If you're getting a bad signal try changing the channel that the wireless is running on from the router settings as different frequencies will have more interference than others. I can pick up 3 other routers in my flat and some channels render it almost useless where others give me a brilliant signal.
