Any thoughts on this S2?

Just started the hunt for an S2 for the summer, and have seen this car:-

think i have seen that one round newcastle
looks nice but i dont like the dealer although others do

Looks pretty reasonable. Bare in mind that it has no air-con or hard top when comparing it to others on price. 2002 is very early for an S2 111S too so it wont have the later improvements but they were pretty minor - extra sound deadening, different stereo system, that kinda thing I think.

Cheers for the advice guys. Is lack of Air Con the kiss of death for resale? Been looking through the classifieds and not many seem to have Air Con listed??

Again forgive my ignorance but I have seen a couple with air con and the internal pictures look excatly the same as with this car?! How can I tell from the pics if a car has Air Con?

If the dash has a black box in the middle of it with two vents in it, its got air con. Non air con models only have front facing vents above the front speakers.
I think this is right anyway.

Nearly. If it has the 2 front facing vents & ones above the speakers it has the improved HVAC fan system. If it has these and small black buttons inbetween the heater & fan control knobs then it has A/C.

Correct; it's the two black buttons in between the 3 x silver turn knobs which shows it has air con

it says it has a blue hood which I don't think is standard for this colour, also there aren't any pictures with it on so I'd chance my arm and say that its going to look a little out of place on that colour.

Also doesn't the 111s have leather seats and door cards? I think thats actually a 111

apart from that it seems a good price for the mileage, as mentioned its an early model so doesn't have some of the refinements of later cars, but on the plus side its one of the lightest s2's

Half leather seats door cards (the other half being alcantara).

Air conditioning adds a bit to the value but some people (like me) actually wanted a car without it so it shouldn't make it impossible to sell. Air con is more important in the Exige because you can't take the roof off to cool down in the summer.
