Kiddie seats help please

Finally done it, bought the Cerbera, now just need to fit the family in!
Whats the recommendation on which child seats fit in the back? I think I've heard the 'Recaro Start' suggested or that also TVR made a seat or adaptor?? Current 'bucket' style thing we have won't fit.
For info child is 2 year old.

Thanks Gazzab. The ones on ebay are reasonably close to me too. I pick up the car next weekend so can't measure or trial fit currently so excuse my stupid question, but whys the Recaro the preffered one?
i.e. I see similar ish design of these sort of child seats for a quarter of the Recaros price.
Does recaro fit the Cerbera seats better?

No other seats will fit - the bottom 'squab' (?) will be too deep in all other seats and or they are too wide.
Recaros are bes fit and a good quality seat.
You could alternatively get them to hold onto the bonnet - that'll be cheaper ;-)

Yea this is right, Start fits and only that one when we tried. In the end we sourced a TVR seat- failing that you need a Start. My two year old loves the car even though she doesn't have much leg room!

Recaro Starts are available new from several online retailers; Kiddicare, Twoleftfeet (cheapest I can find), Bambinodirect, to name a few. Only problem is I can't find anyone who stocks the seat AND the "impact cushion", advised for 9 month-5 years. Found it separately on this site:

but have to add postage to that price.

Anyone know if it's actually unsafe to use without the impact cushion for this age range, or just less comfortable?

Hi,

You need the impact cushion. My son is now 21 months and I still would not consider putting him in the seat without it. I think the safety instructions that come with the cushion state it must be used until the child is three.

From the upright position they sit in the start the child also needs to be quite tall and have very strong head control (should be able to sit up easily without assistance).

OK, thanks. Think my 9 month old fits the criteria so I'll be getting a Start plus impact cushion soon!

Had the cerb for 6 months now and found the recaro start a really tight fit unless i drive with my legs out the window !!! My 2 kids are 3 and 6. They both use the recaro start knee cushion to divert the seat belt away from their necks. I shopped about for a couple of start seats and found the centenary model in grey leather to match my interior not bad for £250 each ? But the guy who wanted to sell me £500 worth of car seats said that in fitting them they would actually cause the kids more harm than good, and so we settled for the lap cushion things at £30 each and a seat belt adjuster for my my 6 yr old to use soon as he's on the height limit for the cushions. Read a post on here about the front seat seatbelt door pillar fixing bolt nut can give the kids a sore one if their head was to hit it ! Dont know a remedy though ? Hope you get something sorted as your kids will love you all the more for it. My 2 cant get me to go fast enough !!! Regards. SVM

The recaro start fits perfect in the back of the cerbera. My 13 month old baby love´s it. I just bought it (in Germany) new form a Recaro dealer.
