Code 147 RAM Failure

Car still running ok, but speedo and rev counter will not reset to zero, and both read approx 2 x actual...

Any ideas?

Hi

Had "F - RAM" failure on mine - was the little watch type battery in the POD ecu in the drivers foot-well. I had just the error message come up - did not affect the needles

If it IS this you may need to get the mileage set correctly after replacing the battery

I'm not sure that 147 RAM failure and F-RAM failure are the same thing. By all means try the battery thing, but I would suggest resetting the ECU might be worth a punt. Not sure of the best way to do this though.
One way would be to drop the power to the ECU by disconnecting the Battery, thus getting the ECU to restart. A word of warning though, I replaced my battery and connected the positive after connecting the negative. This caused some sparks which in turn screwed up the ECU. The ECU wasn't damaged, but it needed a factory reset by the 'ECU Woman'.

Its fixed after some help from a friendly Sagaris owner (it was on Johns Sag..)

Graham Varley kindly went into one of the menus and zero'd the rev counter and speedo at Cadwell yesterday.

On restarting the RAM error dissapeared.

I managed to wash the Cadwell/Lincolnshire crud off mine in the rain today. Pretty committed for me :-)
