Hey Kids,

Just found a 111r that I really like, 2006 plate, but the dealer is kinda clueless and reckons it has a pump for lumber support, and doesnt think the rear lights are LED. Car is a good 2 hours drive, so really dont want to waste my time.

Registered March 06, is it possible that this is a MY05?? Or is he just being silly.

Comes with a hard top @ £19.5k

Could be an MY05 only registered in 2006, happens sometimes. Yes, the lumbar support is a pump, you inflate the support to whatever level you want it at. TBH, unless they are the very latest revision of the LED lights, you'd not want them anyway, lots of trouble. MY06 did come with Probax seats though - So ask him to check for the Probax label on the seats (can't remember which side it's on)

You would get a Sport Racer for that price which has a few additional extras to a "normal" 111R.

Yup a sports racer would be lovely, Dealers are asking for £22-24k, and found a couple of private ones both not willing to go under £21k, even though one of em has been on sale for 2 months.

Does sound like a 2005 Model registered in 2006. Another difference is the pedals. 06MY are steel vs the previous elegant cast aluminium ones. If the pedals have holes to save weight then it's an 05 car. The upside is that the brake pedal is a lot firmer with the new setup, attempting to bring back the feel ot the non servo cars.

Thanks for this, dealer has confirmed this is an 05MY... Even though it was registered in March 06.

The search continues frownfrown

What's wrong with MY05? smile Mine is MY05, can't say there's anything I'd change about it, most of my journeys tend to be 1-3 hours at a time. As I say, some of the "improvements" are backwards steps really, especially the LED lights if they haven't already been replaced with the very latest revision (doubtful). AFAIK MY06 has FBW throttle as well, which many people have commented isn't as responsive.

Mainly the probax seats, I really like em.

And the pedal box? I understand the brake travel isnt as long??

As for the LEDs, they do look kinda cool, however long they last for

The MY06 does have FBW throttle. When blipping the throttle it can be a slightly unresponsive in comparison. There is a relatively recent ECU re-flash which I'm waiting to have that is meant to rectify/improve lag.

I wasn't aware of the problems with the LED lights and I wouldn't say that they were a backwards step. Weigh less and illuminate quicker! The pedal box is revised for easier H&T and is also lighter on MY06.
