Factory/Museum tours - Maserati/Ferrari/Lamborghini?
Discussion
A bit of a dilemma I'm grappling with and would welcome views on.
I'm heading off in the Spyder shortly (end June) to do a bit of a grand tour for a few weeks. I'll be doing the usual and obvious stuff like Reims GP circuit, Nurburgring (just visiting not going round it this time), Black Forest, Stelvio and a few other passes but with three days based at Lake Garda we have one day only to go down to Modena.
So, bearing in mind I own (and love the marque) a Maserati a visit to the Panini Maserati museum seems an obvious must. But, what should I do with the other half of the day?
Do I.....go to Ferrari and forget Lambo or vice versa?
Is a trip to Fiorana worth it? I know about the restaurant and Ferrari shops etc..
I have to say, I'm angling more towards a visit to Sant Agata....
all views welcome! Oh, and I know I've left out Pagani but I think I'll stick with the triumvirate on this occasion.

If you've not been to the Pannini collection before you'll not be disapointed.
I doubt you'd get into the ferrari factory un-invited, but as you say, there are other attractions in "ferrari town" not least of which is the Galleria, which has a fantastic and ever changing collection on show. I ve been 3 times and the cars on show have never been all the same.
I think Lambo will be similar to Ferrari and un-invited you will be lucky to get further than the "entrance museum" but that alone is worth a look.
Turning up in a spyder you'd have a reasonable chance of an escorted tour of the Masser Factory but as nice as it is it's not exactly an operating theatre clean room like Lambo.
Also close by, if your into bikes, is the Ducati factory and Museum. If the tour guides are all like the one which escorted me and my party, then even if your not into bikes its still a must!
With any of the factory tours I strongly suggest trying to contact prior to arrange though.
Enjoy

I think I can probably arrange the Lambo factory, or at least I am hopeful through contacts that it could come off. I appreciate, and should have said, that I won't get in to the Ferrari factory.
I think I'm going Pannini museum, lunch outside Ferrari and back via Lambo! I had thought about Ducati, as well as Moto Guzzi but there has to be a limit! Or I'll have a spare seat for the return journey!
A trip to the Lambo factory is a must - I've been many times and its a magical place. Try emailing Cristina Guizzardi on cristina.guizzardi@lamborghini.com - it might take her a few days to reply but she should be able to squeeze you in on a tour if you give her dates etc.
Even if you turn up, its worthwhile looking at the museum alone (Cristina is in charge there). If you are lucky you can tag along with another tour if nothing else.

+1 Simon,
took your advice last year and took a trip with two mates, visited Pagani (pic on my profile) Lambo and the Ducati factory. Really really worth the journey.
P.s, forgot to say Hi on Sunday morning Simon, was upstairs grabbing a bagel when you were grabbing a coffee.
Nice to see LG54 the centre of attention at the shopping centre.

Maranello is a very special place and everyone there loves Ferrari all the shops sell Ferrari Memrobilia and if your lucky you can catch a glimpse of kimi on Fiorano.
The Galleria Ferrari is a great museum but isnt that large.
Ferrari Factory tours can be arranged for instance if you "express" interest in a certain model to your local official Ferrari dealer and just happen to be going to Italy you may be able to arrange something.
Lamborghini has a very nice museum and the Factory tour is very ,very good.
Pagani is another very good tour , it is a very small premesies no bigger than the suburban house plot. and there is often a zonda engine starting up near by you are told about the cars etc shown the history of the marque and then you go into the factory, where Mr Pagani is often .
Out of all these tours I would recomend
getting up early going to Pagani ,
Then heading to Maranello having lunch in the Cavalino Resturant then having a look round and if enough time is left head to Lamborghini
I have done it all in a day it is possible.

update!
thanks Simon and others. I contacted Cristina today and she replied immediately. We are now going on a conducted tour of the factory and the museum at Sant Agata in a couple of weeks time. She was very helpful.

I still intend to visit the Maserati museum but suspect I may struggle to fit anything else in with the drive down from Lake Garda as well. I fear the factory visit might be the prelude to something....
knowing how my missus likes the Lambo's.

Glad you got it sorted. You need a satnav to find Sant'Agata. I always park on the grass verge outside the gates. The visitors car park inside is nearly always full. Have a good timethanks Simon and others. I contacted Cristina today and she replied immediately. knowing how my missus likes the Lambo's. Make sure you get to the Lambo factory at the appointed time. A combination of a late train and a taxi driver who had trouble finding the place got me there nearly an hour late and my "tour" was perfunctory in the extreme. My booked guide had other appointments and the replacement guide clearly wished he was elsewhere.
My fault for sure but my experience isn't unique.
