2.0 Duratec engine oil level

On something of a whim I find myself the proud owner of a Fiesta ST. I had no intention of buying a car this weekend, or even for the rest of this year, funny how these things go though!

Having read the owner's manual I'm none the wiser - should I check the engine oil level with the engine hot, warm or cold?

Thanks for the reply. I'd figured as it was showing a bit on the low side I'd whack some oil in anyway, so popped half a litre in.
