I'm thinking about replacing my plastic windscreen vents with leven ones.
Do the leven ones actually replace the existing plastic ones or do they cover the plastic ones?

they are a straight swap, pull out the black plastic, replace with the shiny ones! be warned they reflect more in the windscreen smile

They replace the existing. Just prise (carefully) the old one's out and push the new one's in.

Colin.

And that reason alone is why I have always wondered why anyone would want them.

Leven should do them in matte black, I reckon.

I only swapped mine to remove the abundance of (cheap looking) black plastic that used to everywhere in the car! You DO get used to the reflection...eventually

Hmm having second thoughts about these now.

I was only looking at them because some of the existing vents have popped slightly and look a bit of a mess. I've tried pushing them back in but they don't hold.

bought these for my first Chimaera a few years ago, but will not be buying them for my new one. I think it's a personal thing, but I thought they looked a little garish...

Mind you, you can always purchase and fit and see what you think, you can always change them back smile

Or do what I did and take out the standards and respray to match top of dash vinyl, no reflections, blends in nicely.

;) It's so I can get an even tan when driving! :P

Each to their own, I prefer it to the 'old man' wooden one which was cracked and well past it's best, it's just like the vents you don't notice it after you pull out of the drive, I'm looking more at the road ahead...then at the side...then ahead again biggrin

Good for you, I'm not keen the 'Gentleman's club' look either, I went for the carbon fibre (ACT) dash,as you say each to his own, I do have the leven vents but have never noticed the reflection
