. . . and the occasional Westies and such.

I was wondering why bike exhausts aren't used by - light - (performance) cars? They sound good, obviously do the job and save weight.

Like sidepipes they are more compact, am I silly or do 'standard' exhaust - usually consist of 3 dampers - look overly exessive?

I think the internals of bike exhausts don't handle the higher temperatures that a car produces as well, I may be wrong though.

However, this was what happened on a friends turbo'd kit car with a bike exhaust.

So on small engines it might work?

Why would they comment? And who are these TVR owners that have replaced the factory exhausts with bike products? (Although they do look similar to bike silencers.)

And there was me wondering if my Sagaris has a 'bike' exhaust smile

I must admit it sometimes sounds like it when on hard acceleration, the rasp is superb biggrin

My mate has two bike exhaust on his 4.2 Cerbera (one on each side) they do sound good but I think he put them on more for show than sound.
