T350 Window wippers

Hey I appeared to have a slight problem with the window wippers on my car over the bank holiday weekend! Theres me on the m25 in the pooring rain with the wippers going when all of a sudden they just stopped which as you can imagine did little for my visability in those conditions! I managed to pull onto the verge and open my bonnet to see the mechanical arm had popped off from where they connect causing it not to work! I tried clipping it back on best I could but after driving 1 mile or so the problem accured again, and again and again, until by this time I was soaking wet from getting out and ended up driving back home with my head out the window to see! Would people be so kind to reply if this has happened to you and what the problem is? Thanks James

I had the same issue but fixed it by re-attaching the wiper connections (a you did) and then tightening the retaining piece. The quick fix to get me home was to disconnect the passenger side wiper and allow the driver-side piece to operate independently. It wasn't exactly Merc-standard but it kept me on the road.

Is apparently a fairly simple fix so hopefully you should get it sorted easily.

Whilst your at it, coat the window with some RainX then you probably wont even need to use the wipers!

har. i think they are wipers. but it did tickle me.

Funny how wipers always fail when it's raining - sods law! Mine failed on the Sagaris some weeks back. The ball joint shown in pic popped out. This is 1/3 down arm that connects the two wiper arms together. Easy fix, got a mate to weld it back in.

I mentally read that in the style of Inspector Clouseau...

Not had a failure yet (touches wood), but I agree with the RainX recommendation.
