Won't make any difference, the standard filter is made by Pipercross in the first place and the difference between that and a K&N is virtually naff all.
Well my previous filter certainly wasn't made by them and was covered in cack, so big difference when replaced with clean K&N. If you replace one clean filter with another, that's a different story of course, difference ought to be negligable.

The standard filter is made by Pipercross although it doesn't say so on the filter, there should only be a prooduct code on the end of the filter.
Pipercross filters look awful and K+N filters look great .. enough justification for changing in my opinion, plus because you never change them it pays for itself by the second major service.
Cleaning the Pipercross filter is a pain, you can never seem to get the crud out of the coarse outer foam so they really need changing rather than cleaning.
Also you can stick a K+N sticker on the rear of your car for the ultimate in go-faster max power type accessory.

Mind you, just replaced the air filter on my Jeep with a K&N one (actually fits better than the stock Mopar one!) and the difference is really noticable. Ok, its notorious that the standard Jeep airbox is restrictive (to say the least) and the K&N frees this up a little.
But the engine runs smoother with crisper throttle response and strangely the gear changes are much nicer (automatic) - I guess that the engine was starving of air and hence a freer flow one means that its much easier to change up and down.... just a theory...
Its a shame that these simple things have already been done on a TVR - imagine what it would be like if the standard TVR engine was running with a bunch load of standard parts!!! Whayhay...

I am not sure. I talked to Tim at ACT Performance Products and he sold me a filter that replaced the old one. I do not remember the model number.

I have a K&N on mine, and I felt that this was a big improvment over the original filter.

What K&N "model" did you use ??
