Why do people keep saying it's an Elise series 3? Everyone with any brains already knows its a Eagle?

I believe it is the "Eagle" but TBH it's going to be pretty disappointing from that to me, it is just like a slightly bigger Elise - I'm sure some of the minor details will be different and of course the engine, but for all intents and purposes, no matter what they call it, it does look like an S3 Elise to me, which I'm sure is going to disappoint a lot of people.

Must be a 2 seater, with a 2+2 to be launched at a latter date, maybe?

Well they don't but this is so close in size the the S2 that you have to wonder if it is. Most people think it is the 'Eagle' but we are also wondering if an S3 will suddenly appear in the same way the S2 did (apparently).

Does it come with horns?!

The back looks like it belongs to an Elise

You can thank me later:

Certainly looks quite small, but there certainly seem to be two variations of the car. I guess Lotus are making the most of their VVA system to do this at low cost. Makes sense to me.

It looks like the short wheelbase, 2 seater version of the Eagle is the silver car (AU08 GHB) and that's not much longer than an Elise. It does seem to be wearing a different disguise in those latest photos though scratchchin The 2+2 is the dark blue car (AO57 EYV) which was recorded at the 'ring on Youtube and that's certainly a longer car. Mind you, that small one is going to go like bloody hell if it's around 1000 kg with 300 bhp!

1200kg, more like, and i'm afraid that would still be rather optimistic, least i'm mistaken?

Maybe, but I guess we can't be sure until we see it. The Elise SC is supposed to be quoted around 900 kg IIRC. From the SELOC forum the dimensions of the SWB version are very similar to the Elise. So, I'd be hoping that, even with the extra NVH requirements and a bigger lump onboard, we could still be looking at only a 100 - 150 kg weight gain. I guess we'll see!
