I have a Peugeot 106 1.1 (I know.... Its my workhorse runabout!). In short the gearbox is knackered.
I've been quoted £300 to fit a replacement box which i need to source myself.

Two things, is £300 for a box change about right?

Secondly, anybody know a decent place where i might be able to source a recon or second hand box from - I'm in the Thames Valley area

Thanks

breakers section in the trade-it or auto trader is a good place to look 300 pound is about right prob get it cheaper if you look around as it is a popular box,

also make sure its not the cluch or release bearing thats faulty the bearing has a tendancy to eat into the pressure plate which then stops the clutch from working fully hence grinding gears.
