Anybody know this S3 for sale?
Discussion
I like the colour. Must admit more so than the one for sale on the island (cooper green), for which is a stable car which a tremendous exhaust note but lacks a little in cosmetics. The owner of that has unfortunately put the price up from previous offer of 3500 to 3750 for which i won't accept now. But this one has just been reduced on Pistonheads. I like the look of it!

Must admit there appear some cars that look like bargains on here lately, I'm very tempted as an entry level S by the dark red S1 for 3250. And there are more. So...what do you think? I will get one whatever happens!

Good advice. Ramps, light - GO! It looks too good to be true for 3500? I really like the colour too. I'm very tempted. Right, I'm going to ring him tomorrow because he hasn't replied to my email. Cheers. If you know of any entry level S's around or you think would make a good starter TVR, contact me. Thanks again.
When I was looking at cars the price varied significantly and very rarely corrolated with the condition.
Take a look at somewhere like http://www.tvrsseries.com/ and find out all the points you need to poke with a screwdriver.
Don't expect it to be perfect - virtually any original car will have the odd stone chip by now and virtually any TVR will have the odd squeak or rattle.
Just do the usual checks really - does everything feel right? Is there any play in the steering? Any signs of transmission whine or trouble getting into gear? Any major oil leaks? Do the brakes work ok? Does the oil pressure look ok (I think the figure you're looking for is around 50psi)?
Try and check as much as possible before the engine starts. You will want to buy one after that.
Finally, if you have any doubts at all (and really even if you don't) you should try and see some more examples.
In the end, the first car I saw was very nearly as good as the fourth (which I bought), but I didn't know that until I'd seen a few and the condition does vary. The most expensive cars I looked at were the two least impressive examples, so don't be put off by the price if a thurough inspection and test drive doesn't throw up any issues.
Did you say Rob Ingelby had looked at the car? If so, give him a ring, he can probably give you an idea what it's like.
Happy hunting!
