VAT question about New Build Property

One of you developers or builders must know this.
Is there a definitive list of what items are VAT free and which are not in a new build house?

For example I’ve been told that my kitchen is VAT free, but the kitchen appliances are not VAT free and I can sort of understand this.

However I’m now looking at all the fixed furniture in the “Dressing Rooms” which I’m told is not VAT free. Is that correct?

Then when you get the fixed furniture in the Study I get a different answer depending on who I speak to.

I had always thought that the logic was that if the item was fixed into the house (so not portable) it was VAT free but this doesn’t seem to be the case

should have said... the basic rule is that if its permanently fixed to the building and cannot be removed then its zero rated... by example, integrated appliances are normally zero rated because (although you could remove them) you would not normally expect to do so....
