Well, at least I am excited on this horrible grey and wet day!

The new camera (Canon 400D, 18-55 and a 70-300 lens) turned up today.

I haven't touched an SLR for around 2 decades (fairly sure I was around 13 last time), so I have been trying to have some fun. Obviously most are scrub pictures at the moment, but it's very wierd trying to remember ISO and F stops, only to find the camera trying to do it all for you...

Anyway, here are two I thought would be different from the norm - apologies they are both of the same subject!

(I realise the second one is blurred - as I said, playing with it!)

PS Thank you to everyone for their advise in a previous thread.

Funny the stuff you point the camera at when it's new - I think I'd had my D70 about a week when I took this:

Your mixer looks a bit better than mine though.... Allen and Heath? Used those a few times in clubs, used to get a bit too obsessed with the filters.

Yep - Xone92 with the new A&H headphones - talk about a sonic performance from those - incredible! And the filters are a lot of fun, especially with the LFO on!

Liking the shine on yours - stab in the dark, but Vestax? Nice photo, too...

Vestax indeed - good eyes. It's about 10 years old now.

The shiny finish seemed like a good idea at the time but is actually a terrible smudge/fingerprint magnet

Currently it's sat under an inch of dust along with my 1200s as I haven't used them for ages! £thousands spent on kit and records that is all now pretty much worthless. A bit like photography really!

I learnt on a silver version....

As for everything else. Spend some money, record all the vinyl on to digital, and sell it on eBay. I made just under a grand doing the same, and I still have 3 full boxes. You'd get a few more hundred for the players, and then you can spend it all on CDJ's, a small mixer, and have your cake and eat it!
