Wave or No Wave.

Iv owned my Elise for just over a year now and still consider myself to be a newbie to the scene. I need some clarification on something. Im used to getting the occasional flash or nod when passing other Lotus owners, however i was passed by a VX220 today who gave me a wave. He caught me by surprise and not knowing what to do i responded with a pathetic 1 finger acknowledgment as i didn’t feel he fully deserved a full 5 finger wave. VX220 Wave or No Wave.

I also wave to TVRs, and british sports cars (triumps etc) - especially when people are obviously out and about for a nice drive.

Wave and a flash if I spot them in time, usually don't get one back, miserable sods - but that sometimes happens with Elise/Exiges as well. I know I didn't flash a couple of Elises the other day as I was pootling down the M1/M18 - Didn't see them in time, all you can usually see is wheels of an Elise unless you're both in the outside lane, until it's too late to flash.

There is a red VX220 that has appeared near me. I usually see it from the top of the loser cruiser on my way home from work. The other week I parked my Elise next to him at a nearby retail park. When I was returning to my car, I said hello and the fecker blanked me!!! I make a point of flashing him all the time we pass but he never flashes back!

I waved to a red Vx220 the other weekend near Croydon. I think I shocked him so much that he nearly waved back with both hands and at least one foot...

I reckon if it was made in Hethel, it deserves a wave...

im usually too late to wave. Everytime i see a Lotus i think "wow thats nice" and then realise it is a Lotus after it has passed.
When i do acknowledge another car i usually give it the thumb in a Fonz type style.

Seems to be thing of late (May be it's the Exige) less and less people in other Lotus wave I always wave or flash my light's and sometimes lately people don't even look

I wave to all the Lotii & VX220s i pass, there's one guy in a brand spankers exige who never waves, but all the others do
