Well, I had just been thinking earlier this week, that I must chase my claim for a refund when lo and behold I receive a letter through the post from the administrators. They letter was an offer of a cheque for £262 and some pennies in return for a signature (and a witness signature).

So if anyone else out there is still waiting there is still hope.

Only had 2 months to run on my insurance so don't expect to receive anything.

I was with Classicline and I'm still waiting as well.

Not impressed - it was 2 years ago!

Just received a letter from Independent insurance this morning, or to be more exact, Capita Insurance services. The letter says that "Aurora" has been appointed as "Agent and run off manager".

The letter saya I "may" be entitled to a return of premium equal to 90% of the remaining value at the time of termination.

In order for Aurora to process this I have to sign a document to transfer my rights for "return of premium" from Independent to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Anybody know if this is OK or am I about to get fleeced?

Appreciate any comments

Cheers

Bob

I was with Mannings and that sounds like exactly the letter I got. I didn't take legal advice but figured that if I didn't sign it and send it back then I would get nothing. Sounded completely cosher to me. They even gave me a figure that I could expect as my refund.

I had just taken out a policy with Independent through Mannings when they keeled over. So far I have had diddly squat out of £900 premium.

Anyone else still waiting? Or have I been shafted?
