fuel cap stuck

Just been to fill up my Tamora and the fuel cap wont budge no matter how hard I try, last time i filled her up it was a real swine as well eventually put it down to pressure build up

Any body got any tips tried wd40 and brute force

I must have looked a prat at the petrol station

You have built up a vaccum in the tank, and need to release the pressure, you will find that your vent pipe is kinked or blocked in some way, the vent pipe on my car ran from the filler neck out over the wheel arch, hunt around by sticking your arm in the gap between bulkhead and wheel arch the pipe is around 15mm in diameter, i had this problem, the tank would pop and bang, when i got the cap off you could here the air, and the boot smelt of petrol.

cheers I can see where it disappears into the bulkhead there is some slack in it but I cannot see where it exits is it a ramp/jack job to clear? as it appears to be connectd at the far end

Ok got the fuel filler cap off the breather pipe is fixd with an 'o' ring which came out of the rubber suround

Initial problem solved as I had not much fuel

How do I check the full length of the breather pipe? is it connected to anything?

Well mine was was kinked, half way down the length, i pulled mine from the the front of the wheel arch, i presume it must exit in front of the rear wheel? there was enough slack to find the kink and straighten, problem solved.
Don`t fill your tank for the time being if you can help it stick say 30ltrs a time in? Mine also sucked the sender down so the gauge read a constant i.e the same amount of fuel, i think it was 28 ltrs, and it read this if i but fuel in, or used fuel Strange though i could always get the cap off just it made some strange noises and was stiff, but not to the extent of it being solid, you can get your cap off now because the fuel pump has been stopped for a while, and it has released some vaccum itself i reckon?

Just been and stuck about 30litres in wasnt sure about filling her up straight away pipe was kinked when i pulled it from the top just wasn't sure if I could remove the full length and inspect / replace if necessary
