Help HT lead / Dist. cap / cylinder order?

Hi
as anyone got a picture/ diagram of the correct plug order on the dist. cap and which cylinder is which no'?
I have 2 copies of the bible, 1 shows the odd cylinders ie 1,3,5 & 7 on the drivers side the other copy shows the odd cylinders on the passenger side of the engine with the distributor in adifferent place, both are V8 (page 13?)
I am have trouble with the car not reving above 2000rpm, will the car run with the leads in the wrong place on the dizzy?

RV8 ignition sequence: 18436572
Cylinder nr.1 is closest to the distributor.
