I've just acquired a 330d Touring that has an expired TIPTRONIC AUTO gearbox. Looking to find another gearbox to replace the faulty one.

I Would greatly appreciate any information regarding the whereabouts of a replacement box. Or if there are other gearboxes from any other BMW models that could be used ?? Car is a 2000 (Y) model and advice greatly appreciated.

2000 could only be V, W or X reg - Y reg was March 1st 2001 to August 31st 2001

What mileage had it failed at? Any other signs that could have made it fail prematurely (had it been chipped or used for towing?)

I'll be looking for a 330d touring for my next daily runner and appreciate the info.

Although be careful, take a look into how much a decent rebuild will cost, should be around 1500-1800 which may be better long term, as they never have their hydraulic fluids changed, especially if you want to keep the car long term.

Ive been offered a autobox out of a 2000 325 coupe and have been advised by various sources that this will fit the 330d....Can anyone verify if this is the case before I go and buy it.....Thanks
