Better give the folk on here a bit of advance warning for the next one!
Just over 4 weeks to go!
and I'll try my hardest to get some decent weather for this one!

Just a heads up for you all.
Sunday is the annual RAF Veterans celebration at Cosford, and up to 3,000 people are expected at the airfield. Needless to say, traffic is likely to be much heavier than usual. Hence the reason why mrs m will be arriving at the control tower a couple of hours earlier than usual.

Coxy,
For those of us attending for the first time, please would you provide more detailed instructions on how we might avoid the delays. I had intended to use the route shown on the map provided by the 'where are we?' link on the Club website.
However, from the attached link, it appears that the Veterans' Day is on Friday 27 June: http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/cosford/news/index.cfm... - but, there will be cyclists present on Sunday 29 June.

To avoid going through the traffic lights and past the main airfield entrance, when you get off the M54 at J3 and turn left into Cosford, there's a right turn after about 600 yds (arrow straight road) just before the Dual Carriageway bit. Turn left at the very end and you go over the railway bridge and voila, you're at the entrance to the museum!

Be aware that this (Long Lane) may be closed off as there are similar traffic controls in place for the Veterans day as there are for the air show.An alternative route is as follows:
Off M54 J3
Turn right (A41 towards Whitchurch)
Take the first left (signposted Shifnal)
After passing under the M54 look for a left turn signposted Ruckley / Neachley
Turn left here, and follow the lane all the way to the airfield
Me too! Just washed and polished the car as Coxy has kindly said that she can be parked in the main display area!

But she's bound to be covered in dead flies by the time I've driven 3 hrs to attend. Getting up at 5.15 am to make it by 8.30! Suppose I'd better go to bed.
Looking forward to it; see you all there.
