engine clatter

i can`t find out why my engine clatters when its on load . ive replaced the cam ,re faced and fitted new gasgets on the manifold and removed pre cats .does any one have any ideas?i was thinking may be the removel of the pre cats or the new tappets have not been set with pre load .the engine revs well with no horrid noises ,its just when i pull away then when the revs build up the noise goes thanks

mine does this have you checked the 4 into 1 manifold joint?

do you mean the large ss ring

no inside the manifold where the 4 pipes join ,where you took the precat out
