just bought myself a reasonably brisk car and need a scamera warning system. I already have a garmin 2610 from the bike, but much as I love Garmin's after sales service, the routing on these older machines isnt brilliant. There isnt even a postcode search.

So I'm thinking of buying a new machine to do both functions - I dont want 2 machines attached to the windscreen on stickers. Which is the best combined gps and camera warning system? Does anyone use the web POI systems?

Um ill post my usual. Pogodrive. Spot on with cameras never misses one now has regular mobile sites as well. Speed cam functionality is very good sat nav is not too bad either has europe and gb maps standard and a two year man warranty. Sure it aint cheap 250 plus 50 per year but you wont get any speeding tickets from a fixed cam unless you dont update it regularly.

Otherwise talk to MADT350 who deals with sat nav + speed cam devices.

Download POI software onto any decent Garmin system from pocketgpsworld. Update ever few weeks and away you go.

I'd stick with Garmin and try Zumo, moved on from 2620 a lot, especially if you need the bike/waterproof version, it has POI/Scammra info.

760 is good also, if you ride in dry !!

Do the new Garmins have better routing, postcode searches, and do they do the trick of warning you if you are exceeding the limit in 30s etc? The 2610 will tale POIs but does no more than show a blob on the screen - great if you notice it!

Go to https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=135&pI... and read about the 550 for yourself. It's a great deal more capable than you seem to believe ?

You can set speed/tones etc for alerts for all POIs, etc.

Yes to post codes, I believe.

Better routing?? What's that mean. You can choose various compromises, to short-est/quickest/bestests etc on a car/bike/lorry/walk etc

Read and investigate - it's your money.
