The wind in your hair - T350t vs Tamora

Hi Guys,
I’m narrowing down my TVR purchasing options, and I’m now looking at a Tamora or a T350t.
The Tamora was my preference as I thought it was a true convertible rag top, and seems to be a few £k less for an equivalent spec T350t.
The Tamora
I looked at one on Thursday & really enjoyed it. However, I didn’t realise it was ½ targa & ½ convertible, which means it’s a bit of a pain in the arse to put the roof up/down as you have to get out and can’t do a traffic light special.
Secondly, there’s a lot of boot space with the targa panel stowed, but the space becomes less usable as the panel divides it vertically in two.
The T350t
I prefer the look of the T350t over the Tamora, but loses out as it probably doesn’t feel very open; lacking in the sunbathing while driving feeling & wind in your hair experience from the Tamora.
However, if I’d have to mess about with a targa roof in either the Tamora or a T350t, maybe I should go for the one I prefer the look of, and with the panels out I suspect there’s probably a more useable boot space in the T350 than the Tamora with the targa panel stowed too.
When I spoke to the guys at the Offord motor company, they said the T350t roof panels are really noisy at speed, and are a real fiddle, and they wouldn’t recommend it.
Has anyone been in both and can provide a bit of info on the T350t and its convertible capabilities, along with the wind noise issue?

Both are brilliant.However, for me it had to be a T350t.The targa panels take a bit of practise to get in the right spot to reduce wind noise. If you value your license i.e. stay below 100 mph they are fine.
The trouble with the tamora is,if you carry a lot of stuff in your boot you cant lower the roof. I remember doing a tour of Scotland in my Griff (similar roof setup) years ago in red hot beautiful weather, i couldnt put the roof down because the boot was full !! so annoying. With the T350 the panels go in the boot if it is full or empty. No leaks either !!

I have toured in my Tam for over a week, and can fit a fair amount in the back, plus a bag on the back shelf. Yes you can't get suit cases in, but with some carefull packing amazing how much gear you can get in. Personal choice, but I just love driving with the roof off, I think you would be dissapointed with the alternatives.
13 day tour (in Spain) with luggage for 2 in the Tam, and the roof off virtually all the time.
Enough room in the boot with the roof off, but it does take some thought to pack.

i think the answer is to try both, its just that tracking down the T350t is harder - especially one within budget and worth buying.

I strongly recommend going for the later style targe fitments if you can (so the purple car among these). Of course this is depending on all the other things being OK.initially i have my eye on these T350t:

IMO the purple car looks priced right and especially lovely. Make sure it is a wear & tear Autoprotect warranty as there is no mention of a rebuild. The black car's mileage is negated by the rebuild, assuming the clutch is OK. The silver car looks lovely though - I nearly bought one in that colour (interiors were no to my taste).
Small things like mucky footwells and/or mats put me off. Mine are clean, I use rubber mats in bad weather - the sort of thing I'd expect an enthusiast owner to do. Or at least clean the footwell before taking a photo!

I will second that, as long as you use soft bags and be aware that you can scrape the roof leather if you are not careful then there is tons of room. Managed to fit 3 plant pots, 8 shelving brackets and a cactus in the boot the other day, as well as a load of groceries. All with the roof down. Just stay away from the half and half mullet look. For me, the targa panels on the T350T make it look rather ungainly. I prefer the purity of the T350C.
The Tamora is very much not the looker of the TVR range. I didn't like it when it came out, the back looks like it has a prolapsed rectum, and all round it wasn't a great success. But I think time has mellowed that slightly (I bought a Sagaris in the end, despite loathing the looks initially) and I think it is now (dare I say it) almost pretty.
For me, the T350T is always going to be a compromise. It'd neither fish nor foul. Whereas the Tamora is a proper convertible in the mould of the Griffith and Chimaera.
