What do do about deep scratches
Discussion
My mum's Nissan Micra (second generation) has received a scratch down the door, probably from a supermarket trolly. She is going on holiday and I said I would give it a proper polish, wax and treat the plastics. I have had a look and its not down to the metal but enough to catch your nail if you run it down the pannel.
It looks to much to hand polish out. She also caught the bumber on the garage door which has taken the paint off down to the plastic bumber underneath. Its an old'ish car with minimal miles, she would like a new car but I can't see that changing a car for a few scratches, that works perfectly is worth it. Anything I can do just to spuce it up.
Im thinking a damm good wash, clay, polish, wax and treat the black plastics and she will think its a new car.

You could try touching up the paint using something like a toothpick, to fill in the scratch....just make sure the colours match. Tape up the surrounding paint, then polish off with a pc to get a decent finish. Not perfect but better than nothing. Otherwise its time to visit a local friendly bodyshop.
