Parisian Parking
Discussion
That looks about right to me. They leave their parking brakes off in Paris (and many other places) because it's a given that your car will be shunted around a bit when other people park in front or behind. Last time I went to Paris I saw a lot of beautiful and expensive cars... all with cracked bumpers and light lenses, dents, scratches, gouges, etc. that had clearly been caused by low-speed impacts with other vehicles. I think in a place like Paris you just accept that this is how it's done and don't take a nice car there if you can't bear the thought of it looking somewhat disheveled after a day or two!
I went to Paris on a school trip in the mid 80's. Our bus couldn't get round one tight street corner due to a car being parked there so our driver got us boys out and showed us how to bump a car on its suspension (by lifting the wheel arches) and and we shifted it a few feet with ease! Most educational! Probably easier with softly sprung Frenchie!
was in Clapham with a mate and we watched from the coffeeshop as someone did just that in the pictures with his black 360 and it was obvious they had done it before as their bumper was hanging off.
Geezer got out of the car, decided he was a little close and moved slightly so he wasn't touching.
Had a quick look round and thought no-one noticed, mate shouted across to him to be careful and he shouted back arcoss some abuse about how it was only car and not his (as in my mates) so why did it matter.
The look on his face when he pointed out it was, was priceless!!!
Apparantly 27yo cant own fezzas.
