Can folks interested please post as it'd be nice to get an idea of how many people are bothered to do something and get involved.

No need to post any details of course, just a yes or no.

Cheers,
K

Well, I thought that within over an hour at least a few people would have been interested.

No wonder our fuel prices and road tax are going through the roof.

Come on people, Apathy will only price you off the road eventually.

Fuel prices are forecast to be £3 per litre by the end of next year and with the 2-3p a week increases we have witnessed over the past few months the forecast is looking a little conservative!

This sort of thing will only "work"* if it has plenty of support - looking at the list of people signed up http://fuelandtaxprotest.mfbiz.com/#/protestlist/4... and the comments below then it looks like this could be quite a popular protest with interest from all over the country.

  • Whilst I doubt very much the protest will get a change in tax on fuel if it just highlights again the incompetance of robber Brown and weakens the communists running ruining this country then it can only be a good thing.
I'm up for it.

As much as I'd love to help, I'll be 6,000 miles away in a country where petrol's just under £1 a litre. However, why are these things always organised on a saturday afternoon when lots of MPs are at home in their constituencies?

Saturday means a larger turn out I guess?
Take your point though!

I fail to see why petrol here should be £1.18 a litre in most parts and yet in other countries it is as low as 3p per litre!

I am interested in this. We need to spread this around to other forums though. I have just posted this SELOC for the Lotus lot. Hopefully others will post in other forums to pass it on and get as many as possible to go to send a very clear message to this goverment.

It's already on there..

They are just in the process of setting up a general motorist forum but have always supported the public anyway.

I would be there. I think the government is a mess. But I will be driving down to Devon for the weekend. I'll pass the info on to others though.

I'm just not sure a load of us driving TVRs into London would particularly help the cause!

I think the problem is that time and time again these petitions / protests / blockades / rolling roadblocks are organised and I have yet to see any difference whatsoever.

Wasn't there a truck one last week and Brown basically paid lipservice to it saying something about "essential road users" but offering no guarantees?

I just can't see it doing any good. The current government are hopelessly in the red and can't afford to cut tax. The only way they will do it is if they are sure they will lose the next election and they do it to screw the next government.

I now expect a flurry of posts telling me that if everybody was as apathetic as me then nothing would ever change, and that I have no right to complain etc. hehe

I won't be taking part as I'll be out earning money (and paying tax) to pay for the huge tax on petrol silly

I would come but theres probably no point if the other protests are anything to go by. The pigs will just come down hand out public order notices and restrict everyone from the centre of London. So much for freedom of speech in this police state.

I still think a protest on a school day and one which will actually affect the MPs and the capital city a lot is the best chance of making a difference.

Why a Saturday? Is a week day inconvenient? Look ina mirror and make a difference.

Pick a school day and I will happily take the Disco around Parliament square for as many hours as required!

Presumably there's no Kengestion Fine on Saturdays?

However, one imagines that the Stalinist Brown will mobilise Plod and the protest will go nowhere.

Far better to proceed quietly to London independently, then all rise up converge on the target at a nominated TOT....

Allegedly.
