Mid Essex Meet White Hart & Southend Convoys

Next Sunday is the second Sunday of the month (8th June), which means another Mid Essex meet and more Mid Essex convoy activity from the White Hart and Southend seafront.

Most will know the drill by now, but for those that don't (or forget, or pretend to forget) we'll be meeting at the White Hart as usual from about 11:00 for the main convoy leaving at 12:00, and if you're joining the Southend pose pre meet, at the bays on Thorpe Bay front for 10.15 to 10.30 leaving at 10.45 (or thereabouts).

How do I get to the White Hart..?

1) Take the A12 towards Colchester,
2) Turn off at J19 (Boreham) – keep in the left-hand lane,
3) Take the 2nd exit,
4) Follow the road, it turns to a 40mph,

The White Hart is on your left a few hundred yards further on.
If you get to the roundabout, you have gone too far..!

Southenders pre meeting point is the parking bays on the front by Thorpe Bay yacht park, in between where Thorpe Hall Avenue and Maplin Way meet the front. 10.15 to 10.30 leaving 10.45

I know the bodywork needs some TLC but damn it.... ..she's been locked away in a garage for the last 10 years having bits of builder's grout and cement stuff dropped all over her.

Ray will also be displaying...on the SaggyArse, the trophy she won at the very prestigious Maldon Classic Car Show on Sunday.

What happens at the pose pre-meet? Do the cars drive around the beachfront or stay parked up?

my first time last month and it was fun in the sun.

the cars park up, about 5 last time then rumble along the front to Near hadleigh.

might not go this time, the cerb ate it's air con compressor last time and still isn't fixed.

Depends on the month, anything from 2 to 10 to date then we pick up another on route in Hadleigh. It's just a drive along the front first on the way up to the White Hart. We stay parked up for 30 minutes or so primarily to see if Seasider is getting out of bed... oh sorry, I mean Del Del Del - anyone know where that comes from ?

Be good to see you again Angelis and find out what happened to that feature length documentary you shot of the Tunnels run back in November! That was the last time we met - I looked after your camera and kit whilst you ran off for a natural break at the Chelsea Embankment Car Park

In fact I asked one of the Scuderia at the Goodwood breakfast meet last Sunday whether he'd seen you around.... Hope you can make it on Sunday - they're a good bunch of guys. I cross from a different county for the Mid-Essex meets. So maybe see you at the White Hart if you come with the guys from Southend etc.

I'm doing a Brighton Run the next day so not sure I'll be able to make the TVR Southend Meet this weekend, but will definetly do one in the future.

In fact, if my 348 documentary comes out half decent, the next one will be about TVR's. I'm a bit tired of Ferrari's at the moment and always liked TVR's.

For the people meeting at Thorpe Bay, the Southend Half Marathon race starts from East Beach at 10am, not sure exactly of the route, but might have a few road closures!!

Don't think I thought Maz was you - although similar in height and build - but the colour of his red Ferrari was distinctly different from your black one!! : Anyway, someone seeing my post here yesterday, kindly sent me the link to the rough cut vid you just posted. ABSOLUTELY top job! GREAT work and editing Angelis Can't wait to see/hear the finished article. Available almost anytime if you need more TVR shots for the intro. Can muster 2 or 3 othere too at short notice.

Look forward to seeing you on one of the Mid-Essex meets. Always a good day and this coming Sunday especially so with the Lambo guys turning up as well!! Thanks again for making such a great job of recording that footage back in November.

What's the Brighton run on Monday, by the way?

Lasertam is right, I emailed the organiser of this so called Marathon and they are indeed shutting of the seafront so normal meet point is not accessible.
I'll post up a new meet point - just as soon as I think of one.

RIGHT meet point for this Sunday is Leigh railway station car park at 10.45 to 11.00 am. Email for directions if you need them (it's on our normal route)
