S-type Jag ZF transmission oil leak Help!
Discussion
I have posted this topic on the Jag part without response The car is an S-type 3ltr on the 53 plate
I am loosing oil from the gasket as you can see... well i could not see any oil above the gasket any way
With the ZF six speed can i just drop the plastic sump/tray and replace the gasket ?
Can anyone tell me the oil i will need and the quantity to re fill the box
Does anyone have any experience with this problem and a heads up as to any issues i might come across doing the job
I have tried unsuccessfully to find information on the net Sherly they must be some sites detailing this auto box
And last best supplier for the gasket and oil.
Many Thanks
Paul

Autodata states that the Autobox fluid varies between the 2 engine codes.
For engine code "FC" it's Mercon-V
For engine code "FB" it's Shell M1375,4
I assume they're both ATF/DexronII type fluids no quantity was given unfortunatly, is there a seperate dipstick for the Autobox?

My car is the FB engine number...
I can not find any dipstick and there is no mention in any of the hand books i have with the car so i am beginning to think that the six speed ZF fitted to my Jag is of the sealed for life type of unit which if so i need to get it sorted soon as i have no idea how much oil is left in the box.
Having said that i am not showing any signs of drive issues and have only experienced a couple of drops in the last week or so on the garage floor not forgetting the old engineering chestnut "A little oil goes a long way"
I would still prefer to rectify the situation before real problems develop though so any further information would be appreciated
