Panasonic DMC-FZ18EB-S - Opinions?
Discussion
Folks - my last compact digital didn't quite survive being in my pocket while I bounced face down a red mogul run and I'm looking for a replacement. The Panasonic DMC-FZ18EB-S has caught my eye though I'd initially thought of something smaller - a pocketable Ixus type camera for roughly the same sort of cash, the Ixus 750 I had was superb, though not rugged

DMCFZ18 is a great bit of kit,18x zoom and 28mm lens
another great option is the Panasonic TZ5 smaller product with a smaller optical zoom at 10x ,but still 28mm and has a cracking 3"lcd screen. It's also a lot smaller than the FZ18 and will record HD moving picture quality to the SD card and will playback via component leads on to your HD plasma or LCD if you have one.
