Right chaps, fitted a new clutch master cylinder on sat morning thinking this would have fixed the problem of no clutch pedal pressure and not being able to engage gear while engine running. Gearbox specialist mate thinks its the slave cylinder seal thats leaking as very small amount of fluid visible under car, ooops ! Quite fancy trying it myself, good mechanical background but a little intimidated by the prospect. Does anyone know the process or removing the gearbox and what can stay and what has to be removed. Tried a lot of garages but everyones busy and reckon i could have her going again before they'd have even looked at her.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply mark.

Got her up on stands just now. Following your clutch removal guide, Cheers. Got belly protector, exhaust, heat shields, propshaft at diff and gearbox bracket but cant get the 4 gearbox hex bolts undone. Bought a nice new shiny set of hex and torx sockets but cant get the ratchet onto it, Uhhhh ! Will need to resort to the old allen keys and a big jemmy. Is actually alot more relaxing to do than i thought. Might be something to do with the heated garage and fridge full of Magners, he he he !

Will keep posted with progress.
Ps Are there any benefits to fitting de-cats ?

Yes reduced fire potential and small improvement in top end performance.

When you remove the gearbox ensure that you withdraw teh nose completely before having a rest. Mine slipped when resting it on the exhaust chassis and snapped the cast nose piece of the input shaft. Not good news.
