Kimi losing interest?

According to Crash.net people close to KR say his motivation is dwindling, and that FA will take his seat in '09.

It's obvious that he hates the PR bullst and politics that goes with the job, and he hasn't always driven like a world champion this year.

I'm not a Ferrari fan, but if he is retiring I'd like to see him take another title before he goes.

I agree, it would be a shame if he quit after just winning one WC. I think he is the quickest driver on the grid today when he is really 'on it'. His car control is superb.

Maybe his goal was simply to become F1 World Champion? If he does move, I hope he goes to sportscars, it would be great to see him win Le Mans.

He has a motivation problem....Mikka Hakkinen had the same thing....driving is their passion, winning is the goal, but the lifestyle just doesn't press their buttons. Maybe it is a Finnish thing, who knows. If Kimi starts winning again I can see him racing for another two or three seasons. He will not become the DC or Rubens of F1 and race for ten seasons, six or seven will be his limit with three championships if the car is good enough!

I reckon if he doesn't win it this year, he'll go on for one more to go out on a high. If he wins it this year, I suspect he'll be required to stay for another year anyway and if he doesn't win in '09 either I think he'll go regardless.

Basically, whatever happens we won't see Kimi in F1 in 2010.

Isn't he on record as saying he wants to win two world titles and then immediately retire?

He's certainly good enough for another WDC. This year's Ferrari is certainly good enough to win a WDC in.

Whether he wants it enough is a matter for his own mind.

...erm didn't everyone say this last year? Thought we'd have all learnt the lesson. Besides if all goes badly for Ferrari, they still have Max to rely on.

Mmm, I think Alonso is probably quicker but I'm sure Max will do his best.
