Tuscan Race for road use
Discussion
Looking for peoples' thoughts on buying a converted Tuscan Race car for use on the road.
I've had several TVR's and currently run a Griff 500, which is fun but up to a point. I don't trust the SP6 engine, so the most recent model TVRs are probably not an option. I've already owned a Cerbera which was graat but not a convertible.
I've always loved the shape of the Tuscan Racer but is it at all sensible for road use? Especially given the state of UK roads. Does it even have a boot? In pictures I have seen
there are "shut lines" that seems to indicate that they might.
I only do about 2,500 -3,000 miles a year.
Thoughts please.

I've got Martin Short's car converted as a road going Tuscan racer. The screen isn't as good as a Griffith/Chimaera screen so you tend to get more wind buffing, but there's plenty of room in the cockpit. They're all different it seems; mine has a reasonable size boot, the whole rear area at the back, but no lock. Plus mine has extra rear chassis to protect in the event of a rear ender (otherwise it's just the petrol tank). Mine has PAS, otherwise the steering would be very heavy for road use.
Yes I have done a few, the thing with a road going Tuscan challenge car is that they can be a bit of a nightmare to use. I got a little carried away running a 400ci small block, almost 600 Hp. On a smooth motorway there was nothing better and I mean nothing better, however on a normal road with the usual potholes all you want to do is park up and get a cab. You could of course build the car softer to be used as a road car but then is that really the idea?
So working on the principle of “if your going to be a Bear be a Grizzly” go for it but pick your roads well. I had a lot of fun with that car it still brings a smile to my face remembering right now.

if its the blue car in the classifieds it mine
on the road its not that bad a bit like a cross between my old tr6 and a griff but faster on a smooth road it is simple fantastic on rough roads not as good but still not that bad
yes mine has a boot {some dont}
took mine to the local tvr meeting last month as it was a nice day and it went down very well
you would only have to go through one tunnel and you would buy it
and you cant help but look back at it when its at a petrol station and think wow
if you want to email me i will gladly tell you all about it
