I hope that someone can help me out.
I am looking for a COC - Certificate of Conformity for a Cerb 4.5 LW
does it exist and if so, does anyone knows how I can get it...
thank you.
I had to find one of these when I registered my Cerb here, in Lux.I am looking for a COC - Certificate of Conformity for a Cerb 4.5 LW
does it exist and if so, does anyone knows how I can get it...
thank you.
The registration authorities finally settled on mails from the Garage I'd bought it from and the Factory who confirmed that the chassis number was valid.
Don't know if that's the reason you require one but hope it helps.
Good Luck.
(edited to add)
I know that the German Transport Department authorises the issue of these after the car has been examined at a registered centre.

A. a guy who's work it is to import TVRs and makes way to much money on that.
B. a plastic guy at the authorities how is just answering a question without really thinking and who won't put anything on paper with his signature... he is not responsable and not allowed...
this guy A. even told me that a cerb is in the UK registerd as a ..... sorry Kitcar

He could help me ofcourse after i would pay him...
So to be honest that was my last call with that jester:
Any way my prob is still the same...
Did you actually found a COC?

someone (A.) from the netherlands told me that the problem is that a Cerbera is not registered in the UK the same way as a BMW or what ever car... and that is why a lot of info like emmissions, brakes and all these details are not known.
Any way my prob is still the same...
The reason that emissions are not known for TVR's is that they did not need to go through all of UK testing (SVA ?) is that they are low volume cars and therefore get exemptions on certain parts of the test. Other small volume manufacturers get the same exclusions.Any way my prob is still the same...

Would it not be possible to use the official TVR plate of conformity attached to the body near the bonnet hinges ?
Im sure this would be a good starting place.
very good ideaIm sure this would be a good starting place.
they told me that it would more than just that... like the weight on the axes and all that kind of things...
and it turned out that even all new sold TVRs in the netherlands have been first on UK plates and directly after registered in the netherlands... very interesting situation.

Speak to Nimag, they were the main dealers in your area IIRC or Charles Pulfer in Switzerland.
Both have long histories with TVR and may be able to help.
Claire
i did... they have no idea how to do this, because a Cebr was never sold new in NL and they have and for service of an AJP they can not help as well... Both have long histories with TVR and may be able to help.
Claire
Charles Pulfer can service AJP's I am sure.
If not, it means a trip to the UK.
Only other person who can help would be Dom @ TVR Power - dom@tvrpower.co.uk

I spoke to Dom and he said get hold of Jason Oxley. I phoned the TVR phone number and they gave me a different email address which was a BTinternet address...If not, it means a trip to the UK.

I have mailed Jason and the BLang person, both have not got back to me...
Mr F
You would struggle to get hold of anyone at "TVR" the main number goes to a Virtual Office and someone just takes a message.
Try Heath at X-Works, he may know of how to contact Ben Lang. If not, you are going to have to leave a message with the posh answer service for JO to call you back (but dont hold your breath).

Jason just emailed back to said he could not help, but has passed the message on, and I have a read receipt from Bens email address, but he has not responded directly back to me. Do you have a number for Ben, if so can you mail me throught my profile.
Thanks

No I didn't have to bother in the end. As someone has said, in the UK, small output manufacturers are exempt from certain administration requirements. It took me six months or repeated visits to the Registration Centre but eventually they accepted the documents I'd given, measured and tested the car, weights, emissions etc and then gave me a national registration document.
By the way, they wouldn't accept the plate on the inside of the wing for the chassis number and I had to remove the heating-pipe cover to find the number etched on the front bar of the chassis.
I also contacted some Brits, mentioned above, who were very helpful but also said that I would require a Conformity Certificate.
In the end, I feel the authorities' principle is to resist private owners personally importing cars and only gave in when they realised I was dedicated and that it was only for personal use.
... it didn't help that I don't know the language !!
Try contacting Octane Junkie who tried the same thing in the Netherlands when he lived there (but had to give up!)
Final advice.... just pull the pin and don't give up !

The things is that in case it is going to be too difficult or perhaps not possible to get it registered that would mean that you will be stuck with the Cerb overhere and than the only thing that would be possible is to sell it again... But that would be crazy difficult because it is not in the UK.....
The things is when you talk to the RDW ( the rigistration guys) they give you the i,pression that it is easy... But when you are getting close to things it changes completly and turns out to be a big pain...
gosh... even my wife is complaining that i am all the time just checking how to do this....
